A new kid on the block, which opened last year, is Tumbleweed Studios, and it is already becoming a go-to for many local artists and budding talent. Launched and managed by local recording company, Snakeweed Studios, Tumbleweed’s 2,000 sq-ft venue is conveniently located in Esplanade Singapore.

The facility houses four acoustically treated rooms of varying sizes and includes state-of-the-art equipment from legendary brands like Zildjian, Pearl, Fender, Roland, Ampeg, and Marshall. Also available are 6x P-16M Personal Mixers for IEM Monitoring, as well as 6x FRFR-108 for Floor Monitoring.

Prices start at S$ 26 an hour for the small, 200 sq-ft room and goes upwards.

Trinity Music Studio @ Kovan

Trinity Music Studio @ Kovan

Trinity Music Studio has two studios: one located in Marymount (formerly Tai Seng) and another in Kovan. Both offer musicians an awesome jamming space with top-notch instruments like a Yamaha Stage Custom Birch drum set with Meinl Byzance Dark cymbals, Korg keyboards, Orange guitar amplifiers, and an Ampeg bass amplifier. 

In addition, they are constantly bringing in new equipment to bring you the best jamming experience. Prices start at an affordable $24 an hour.

The Basement Studio

The Basement Studio

This iconic studio is open 24 hours, which is a real boon for the night owls. You can rehearse, livestream, or record to your heart’s content in their fully soundproofed room, which is outfitted with a full drum set, guitars, keyboards, speakers, channel mixers, and studio-quality microphones. 

The jamming studio costs $26 an hour, the recording studio $70, and the livestream studio starts at $250.

The Music Parlour

The Music Parlour 

The Music Parlour has two venues: one in Farrer Park and another in City Hall. Farrer Park has a cosy, modern jamming studio equipped with a Ludwig Neusonic Kit, Sonor AQ2 Kit, TRX and CRX Symbals, Hartke HD75 and HD150, and Audio Technica microphones. Rates start at $20 for 1 pax, $25 for 2 pax, and $50 for 3 to 8 pax. The venue also has a live room for recording and a vocal room. 

The City Hall venue has two rooms: a small one and a large. By removing the soundproof dividers, both rooms can be combined to form an XXL room that’s ideal for performances or group gatherings. Rates are $18, $30, and $60 for the small, large, and XXL rooms, respectively.

Frustrated and constantly disappointed by music studios, founder Eric and his band mates searched high and low for the perfect studio and chanced upon Lithe House. When the existing owners decided to close the studios, Eric and the gang jumped at the opportunity to continue the Lithe House legacy. 

Today, Lithe House is known for its intimate setting and dedication to supporting local and underground musicians. Located in the vibrant Little India district, the studio offers a cozy jamming and performance space equipped with essential sound gear like Bogner Alchemists, Hartke HyDrive LH500 with 410+115 Cabs, Sennheiser microphones, and a Yamaha MG10XU Analog Mixer.

With its raw, authentic atmosphere, friendly service, and cosy environment, Lithe House continues to be a vital part of Singapore’s alternative music scene.

The Ultra Studio

The Ultra Studio

Centrally located next to Funan, this venue has two studios: one for jamming and the other for drum practice. The jamming studio fits 7 people and comes equipped with instruments from Yamaha drums, Fender guitars, Audio Technica microphones, Marshall amps, and a Roland piano and synthesizer. The drum studio has a Yamaha Recording Custom 8-piece drum set. 

Prices for the drum studio start at $15 an hour, and the jamming studio is $25 an hour. You can make a booking on their website and self check-in with the door pin code that you will be given once payment has been made.

Treble Cube Productions

Treble Cube Productions is created by musicians just like you. They decided to design their own contemporary jamming studios to cater to the needs of local artists and offer a creative, fun space to create music. 

There are a total of 3 studios for rent: two of which are 300 square feet and the large one at 550 square feet. All studios are equipped with all you need, including microphones, guitars, bass, keyboards, drums, amps, and recording systems. There’s also a television hooked up to a mini-computer so you can browse the web, play YouTube, or search for lyrics or tabs. 

You can also record audio or music videos of your sessions with the installed camera, which can also take photos on demand. 

Rentals start at $25 an hour for the smaller studios and $30 for the larger one. Treble Cube is open 24 hours on weekends and 5 pm to 9 pm on weekdays.

Tonehouse Studios

Located centrally on Selegie Road, Tonehouse Studios can accommodate rehearsals, recordings, live streaming, and live gigs. The larger room, or the 500-square-foot Living Room, can accommodate an eight-piece band comfortably and comes outfitted with mixers, mics, amps, keyboard, drums, and lightning. 

The smaller room, or the 220-square-foot Bed Room, can accommodate a six-piece band and is open 24 hours.

The Living Room (larger) costs $22.40 for 30 mins, and the Bed Room (smaller) costs SGD $11.40 for 30 mins. Recording costs are additional depending on whether you’re recording solo, a band, or drums, and it starts at $38.80 for 30 mins.

Located on Guillemard Road just a 5-minute walk from Paya Lebar MRT Station, Music Brio was founded in 2016 with the aim to provide a pleasant, conducive space for music lovers to play and learn music. In addition to their studio for rental, they also provide live sound, equipment rental, a sound technician, guitar servicing, and instrument care products. 

The fully soundproofed jamming studio is outfitted with high-tech equipment like vocal mics, a Bogner Alchemist 212, Boss Katana 2×12”, Ampeg BA210, Korg Krome EX88, and Yamaha DBR10 speakers.  

Prices start at $25 per hour for their jamming studio, and you book 10 hours, you get an hour free. You’ll have to sign up for their membership program if you’re looking to book, but basic membership is free and entitles you to 4% cashback. VIP membership costs $30 a year and comes with 10% cashback, a $40 cash voucher, and a free one-hour jamming session on your birthday month.

Near Clementi MRT Station is Jampack Studio, offering fully equipped rooms with top-tier amplifiers, drum kits, microphones, and PA systems, making it ideal for bands and solo artists.

In addition to their jamming studio, they provide live recording services for an extra $10 an hour. They’ll make sure everything’s lined in, mic-ed up, and record the individual tracks or stems for you. Live streaming is also available with a minimum three-hour booking. Video footage and audio tracks will be available at additional costs.  

With a welcoming atmosphere and flexible booking options, Jampack Studio is a go-to destination for musicians looking for a reliable jamming space. They close at 2 am daily, which is nice for the night owls.
